If you preordered from Amazon (with edit)

You did not!
I don't pretend to know the intricacies of what is going on between Amazon and Macmillan, but here's what I do know:

Amazon Pulls Macmillan Books Over E-Book Price Disagreement

And that means: You cannot purchase Eyes Like Stars though Amazon except through third-party sellers. You cannot preorder the paperback of Eyes Like Stars or the hardcover of Perchance To Dream.

If you have preordered either book already, check your open orders. I've already heard from one reader that Perchance To Dream has disappeared from the order she placed it in without notice or explanation from Amazon. Please consider reordering from another source.

Edit: Publishers Lunch has just now published Macmillan CEO's response to Amazon's removal of books

Not the sort of thing that sounds like it will be resolved anytime soon. So, in the meantime and the future, if you'd like to purchase my books in any format, please feel free to give your money to your local indie bookstore or brick-and-mortar chain, or head to the local library.

Thanks for the head's up, I hadn't realized your books were caught in it too. I just went and pre-ordered Perchance to Dream from B&N.com. :)

Re: amen to that!
I regularly ordered large quantities of things (including toiletries and groceries) from Amazon because I didn't like giving my money to WalMart, and for the convenience of delivery.

No more.

I am sorry to hear about this - and not only from sympathy with the authors or publishing houses. But amazon no longer having for sale a significant number of books is sort of mindbaffling, I have gotten used to the idea. Not that I actually buy much from them since their shipping is very expensive to me, but for checking and as an option, it is slightly shocking. I wonder who will blink first.

For your american readers surely there will be lots of options, for the non american (as long as they are on the 40 something countries they ship to) I recommend www.bookdepository.com, they have free shipping to all the countries they actually ship to.

I just heard about the Book Depository today, and I'm THRILLED there is another overseas option...

I looooooove the Book Depository - most of the awesome books either come out here months later, or not at all. So it's great to be able to get them at the same time as the US, and without the killer cost of international shipping.

Yeeeeeah. Not that there aren't alternatives, but the whole thing just gave me a giant headache. :/

Ugh. I *DESPISE* ebooks and *HATE* that arguing over ebooks is making it more difficult to purchase a print book. I will be doing my online shopping at B&N, Book Depository, and other places if Amazon is going to be a bully.

I'm sure this was a tug-of-war, with each side having its own issues, but I shall be shopping elsewhere, too!

the posters on the kindle board scare me. because they spend so much time there they think the majority wants ebooks. I just don't see paper books being phased out in our lifetimes for various reasons... *shudders and runs away from kindle board*

I buy all my books from Coles/Chapters anyway - love the feel of buying books from physical stores with people in them :) Still this whole thing is a complete shit storm. I'm sorry your books were caught up in it.

Sigh, capitalism.

I ~love~ bookstores... I spent HOURS on my bum in our local indie, up to my eyeballs in Noel Streatfeild.

So I'm for whatever helps keep them in business, and as long as they are not part of the ebook rage, that means keeping the market an even playing field.
