It's that time

Domestic
I'm spring-cleaning the house and reorganizing the closets, which is carrying over to LJ.  I'm trimming the flist to accomodate all the newcomers post-story imbruglio this week.  No offense meant... I'm trying to limit the cuts only to those who haven't noted in a while.

(Also, any newcomers who'd like me to friend them back should feel free to introduce themselves!)

Lisa, I don't expect everyone I friend to read my journal (friendslists gets too big, this I realized last year and had to make some reading filters which i still feel guilty about but no choice), but I would like to stay on and read yours if I may.

Hey David, absolutely.

Right now, I'm trying to be really careful to limit it only to people who haven't noted in a long time. ;)

I haven't actively noted much, as I'm still fairly new-ish, but I'm still avidly reading and keeping up and terribly interested. :)

Eventually, we will get past the new-and-shy-and-polite stage and start sending e-mails that basically read, "Dammit, I need cake!!!"

*hee*

Oh, I'm hoping so, because you seem terrific. And everyone needs cake! (Unless it is a lie.)

I just watched Emeril deep-fry a small peach pie.

So now I need peach pie. PIIIIIIIIIIE. *hee*

Deep...fried...pie...

I'm afraid I must go and wibble quietly in a corner now.

I don't even really LIKE sweets! I mean, I DO, but it eventually came down to me going "Self, you only have enough calorie allotment in a day for dessert OR wine. Which will it be?" and the rest of me said "...wait, that wasn't rhetorical? Are you insane?"
[info]lisamantchev wrote:

If you're wibbling, I'm putting the ol' hand crank ice cream machine in your lap and you can wibble us some frozen custard.

Boy, did that sound dirty. *L*

Hahahah... I've always been skeptical of homemade ice cream, because for the years we tried it while I was growing up we had a patently faulty machine, because the finished product (we always tried french vanilla) would end up with tiny chunks of cooked egg embedded in it. Being forced to eat Vanilla Fried Egg Ice Cream (because WE MADE IT as a FAMILY!) is one of those things you tell therapists about decades later. ;D

Wow. *gag* That is... horrifying. And yet, I'm tempted to make it and serve it on noodles.

Green Tea Fried Egg Ice Cream Pad Thai. Yeah. That totally works.

I know what you mean, trying to clean house a bit. It's hard! but it all becomes overwhelming, trying to keep everyone. I've recently defriended people I miss, and am thinking about adding them back in.

I'm glad I'm a keeper LOL

I dislike it when people who are friends close their blogs without saying anything. They're off you're list, sure enough, but they leave behind an untidy line through their names. If they would just say something, we could defriend them ahead of time.

Love the icon. *L*

I thought I had a LJ friend that deleted their journal... I'm trying to remember how I got rid of the name from my flist!

If you do remember, please share! I've tried everything I could think of, and finally decided that if there were a way, it must be with the paid accounts. I didn't check the LJ FAQs, so maybe it's there.

I picked up a whole slew of Scrubs icons *g* I love that show.

It might be a paid account thing... I want to say that I went into the Manage Friends area and unclicked the account name that had been deleted, but it's been so long that I'm not sure!

Yah-hoo! You were exactly right and it worked! I hadn't really looked at the whole "manage friends" at all, but it was very easy. Thank you so much for sharing, you've made my day!

So, I left you a comment from my personal journal by accident. I'm sorry about that (and sorrier that now I can't seem to delete it...)

In any case, I wanted to say hello. I added you mostly because your journal intrigues me and I like your writing, but feel no obligation to add me back.

Cheers!

Hello! I'm one of the Newbies to your LJ. I believe we have mutual friend (or maybe six) in common, but I believe we know alaneer together ... she sent me an email just this morning saying that you liked the Steampunk jewelry - and mentioned in passing, a shared love of pocket watches :D

I thought I'd take a moment and say hello... and intro myself too. I'm a tech support geek, photographer, writer and steampunk jewelry maker :D one of those crazy busy people. lol :D
I look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome!

I do have a mad love of all things pocketwatchery. I bought a few lots of bits off eBay, and my favorite part (besides the smell of old metal) was sorting them.

Hi there,

My name's Amal; I've known about your work for a while, but only recently found you on LJ as a result of the imbruglio. I loved your BPAL-inspired story at Weird Tales, and I thought "The Stolen Word" rocked. Will you be at WisCon, by any chance?

Hi Amal! Welcome, and I'm tickled that you liked "Six Scents".

Sadly, I won't be at WisCon in person, only in spirit. :)

Hey lady.

I am slow. BUT! FINALLY! There are pictures that can be found in this here link and you look might find if I do say so myself. I managed to have closed eyes for one of them of course.

Sorry they took so long!

Re: PIC SPAM!
Oh! Thank you so much! We look faaabulous. I have decided I will always dress up for Saturday night.

(PS, I am still jealous of the comfy shoes you had on! *G*)
[info]shaddyr wrote:

Ah, yes. Dressing up is most awesome. Comfortable shoes are equally awesome. Hmm, you are showing off your feet with your lovely outfit, mine were hidden.

::ponder::

Maybe you wanna go with a ballet style slipper or some such. You can get some really stylin' low shoes, and you certainly have the height advantage covered already *grin* so you don't have to worry about wearing flats leaving you too short.
[info]lisamantchev wrote:

What I might actually do is skip the stylin' shoes during the day (I wore heels all day almost every day...) and keep the kickass shoes for the evenings. Then my feet won't hate me. *G*
