The food, the music, the flowers.

Paris Spring
Watching A Good Year on HBO.  Happiness is Marion Cotillard and Russell Crowe... although I'm left feeling homesick for the south of France.  What is it about a crumbling country house and a mucky swimming pool, clay tennis court and breakfast on a tray in the garden that make me go all nostalgic?

I am determined to make this summer... more French.Late dinners on the patio.  Pots of herbs.  Chocolate croissants and chocolate mousse in little pots.  I need to practice my vocabulary and verb conjugation, which gets much better with a glass of wine or three.  *G*

If I had a pile of money laying about, the front lawn would get ripped out and replaced with a courtyard, stone pavers and fountain.  Roses and lavender.  And the lower lawn would have grapevines.  Who needs grass?

Ah, France...Italy too. We were watching the GODFATHER the other day and (aside from the murders of course), loving the Italian countryside...

The French live better than anyone, IMHO.

I figure all it will take is some lanterns in the garden, several bottles of wine, good food and a regular influx of friends coming to stay at our "chateau". *G*

Well, sure. If I didn't mind making a horse's behind of myself on a fairly regular basis... ;)

Heh. I suppose that would put a damper on things, wouldn't it?

Happiness would be, uh, happier if other people could be substituted for Marion Cotillard....

Heh. The scene at park, in front of the movie screen? *melt*

Oh, I never watched the movie. Now I will. So much recommendation just makes it irresistable!
